Scan

Thank you all for your wonderful comments, they mean a lot to us.
The scan at Kings Hospital went better than we had expected. The first LHR reading was 1.7 whereas Alina's was 0.6. Also, the baby has only stomach and bowel up in the chest, whereas Alina had the liver as well. We have been booked for another scan in 3 weeks time when we'll know better whether we need the balloon again or not. I hope not and I hope the LHR will continue to stay high, i.e. above 1, which means the baby will have a better start in life. For now, there's not much we can do, we just need to sit tight and wait and hope for the best.
But from experience, we know this is just calm before the storm.
Hugs from us all,
the 3 Houchins

Ingrid and Alex, I have been thinking of you daily. I am so sorry that you will have to travel this road again after already being through it with Alina. I can't imagine. Sending much strength to you and hope for this strong babe.

Hi, I just wanted to say we have a daughter who is 5 weeks old, with LCDH found at 20 weeks, we had the balloon procedure at kings, she was born there and had the operation to repair the hernia 5x8cm patch was needed. She's now in our local hospital and doing well, just trying to sort her feeding out so she can come home. Our thoughts are with you always. x

Oh my goodness, my heart hearts for you both! This is so unfair!! We will pray for your baby boy as hard as we know how!
I was thinking of you only the other day, thinking how lovely it would be for James and Alina to meet, after all we are so close! Now I think it more than ever as it may be that we can help when your little chap arrives!
Keep us posted.

Much Love,
Beth, Mike, James and Anna xx
