Robbie: 3 weeks post balloon

3 weeks on and we went back to Kings for another scan. I am 29 weeks now.The balloon seems to be working, the LHR has improved to 1.7. My fluid levels are a bit high, 7.3 but still manageable and my cervix is closed and long, which means I won't be giving birth anytime soon. We have another scan scheduled in 2 weeks time and then the balloon will be removed 3 weeks later. It's weired to think that Alina was born at 35 weeks and that we're not that far away from that date. Although it's harder for me to be as positive as I was with Alina, I am determined to make it to 38 weeks. So, keeping fingers crossed that everything will go well until then.
Hugs,
Ingrid, Alex & Alina

Wow, that is so amazing! It's wonderful that in just 3 weeks, the LHR has improved. I'm so glad to read this.

I know what you mean about not being as positive, for after traveling this road once before, you know all the heartbreaking stories right along with the amazing miracle stories like your little Alina. In those dark moments for myself, I look at our firstborn and how well he is doing, and think, it has happened once, it is possible to happen again and have another miracle.

Thank you for the update and I'll be watching for more as we consider fetal surgery for our cdh girl. We will be praying for your family!

Hi,

Since finding your blog a few weeks I make sure I check in everyday to see any new updates.

We're are glad the LHR has improved and miracles can happen twice in one lifetime this I am sure-- our first born we had been trying for three years and nothing, a week before the "IVF" appointment we did a test...we were pregnant- miracle 1......Gracie our second baby only with CDH this time....she is doing well and going in the right direction- miracle 2! I know your situation is slightly different but the miracle will be there for you again, keep your head high and your spirits up always- you know you have a whole "family" of people who know what you are going through again and will support you all the way- we are all connected by that one thing and bring that all together as a support network it's a very powerful thing.

All our thoughts always to you and all families of CDH.
